DNUG Spring Conference: Securing Competitive Edge Through Smarter IT Solutions for Cloud Computing and Email Management
Eisenach/Berlin, 18 May, 2010 – The German Lotus User Community will meet again at the DNUG Spring Conference to be held 7-9 June 2010 in Berlin. This year’s conference is placed under the motto "A Step Ahead With Smarter IT" and will provide both companies and users with an opportunity to exchange information and views on the latest business solutions and developments related to the IBM platform. Participants include both experts from GROUP Technologies – the GROUP Business Software division for email, archiving and administration – and, for the first time, the GROUP Live division for Lotus Notes applications in the cloud.
“We will show the Lotus Community that yesterday’s hype has become today’s reality. One of the central topics at the DNUG conference will be to look at new technical and economical options for the delivery of solutions through cloud computing“, said Andreas Richter, Director International Marketing at GROUP.
Besides presenting their smart IT solutions to the Lotus Community at their joint stand, both of the GROUP Business Software divisions will also provide active impulses within lectures. Thus, to name one, the agenda features a lecture on "How to make Lotus applications cloud-capable in 10 minutes" to be held 8 June from 14.00 to 14.30. Matthias Röder, Senior Consultant et GROUP Business Software, will present the cloud computing platform developed by GROUP Live for dynamic delivery, management and monitoring of Lotus applications. The multi-award-winning GROUP LIVE PaaS offer provides SMEs with a cost-efficient and easy-to-use solution to automate the provisioning of entire application environments in the cloud.
One of the first users of the innovative GROUP Live platform is the German solvito GmbH. Their Managing Director, Jörg Baumann, will present the PaaS solution from the user’s point of view. He will demonstrate how providing applications on a SaaS basis effectively does away with complicated software installations, time-consuming adjustments and cost-intensive hardware. DNUG Managing Director Dr. Roswitha Boldt is confident from experience that “a concrete example will find a positive resonance among listeners. We have experienced great interest for cloud computing in the last few months.”
As the Premium Sponsor PLATIN of the DNUG Spring Conference, GROUP Business Software will address a number of topics from the fields of cloud computing and email management in an exclusive series of lectures on 9 June. A live demonstration of GROUP Live will illustrate how the installation of an entire Lotus application environment is performed in a fully automated way within a very short time and can then be offered on a Software-as-a-Service basis. Focusing on email encryption, the email experts from GROUP Technologies will present two solutions – iQ.Suite Crypt and iQ.Suite WebCrypt – designed for secure B2B and B2C communication. As a matter of fact, iQ.Suite WebCrypt does not even require an installation by the recipient nor the use of certificates or key-based methods such as PGP or S/Mime. A live demo from the email experts will publicly show for the first time how email encryption can be implemented in combination with cloud technologies. Further lectures will deal with Notes Roaming and the rollout of Lotus Notes Domino 8.5.1. To support the lectures, GROUP experts will be happy to exchange views on current topics with visitors at their joint stand on both conference days.
